War over Tokunbo fighters is a story chronicles the effort of the Nigerian government to overhaul and upgrade the 23 MIG-21 BIS combat aircraft in the Nigerian Airforce inventory. The story anchored by Wilson Uwujaren, Senior writer with the magazine exposes the intrigues and the lack of transparency in the selection process which saw a company that was adjudged as incompetent during the preliminary stages now becoming the most favourite to win the contract.
The award became an institutional award based on the DAME’s rule of giving the prize to the publication where the by-line in a story is more than three.
